The May 1, 2010 McCool Field Neighborhood Appreciation Day (see photo section)
was postponed due to high winds on May 1st, but was successfully held on May 8, 2010. Although it got
very windy in the afternoon, we had a lot of neighbors who came and visited with us and enjoyed the
flying park. They brought their wives and kids who played on the simulator and flew the live trainers
using buddy boxes.
Our expert cook, Britt Morrison, kept the hamburgers and hotdogs going all day long. Everyone really
seemed to enjoy themselves.
The Rebel Squadron really helped out by supplying the trainer airplanes and keeping the flying line filled
with activity.
The Rebel Squadron donated a complete 60 size trainer with engine and radio as a raffle prize. Cameron
Wall, from the Propnuts, also donated a complete trainer, so we gave away two complete airplane systems.
As the three o’clock drawing time arrived, the tables were filled with eager kids and their parents waiting to
win the coveted prizes. And, they weren’t disappointed when two of the young kids took home a complete
R/C airplane, ready to fly.
